Newbury Racecourse blossoms onto the food scene with a new take on the Ladies Day Lunch - The Eve Salad
To match the floral dresses of female fashionistas, Newbury Racecourse is at the forefront of a new global trend using edible flowers to create a fresh and healthy alternative to the traditional Ladies Day lunch – The Eve Salad.
The floral-inspired dish is available at the Ladies Day Hula Bar & Grill at the Party in the Paddock fixture on Saturday 14 August, when Westlife will be performing live after racing. The salad is delicately decorated with edible nasturtiums, bursting with fresh seafood including mouth-watering king prawns, marinated salmon and crayfish. At just £6.50 this fresh and healthy salad is the perfect light bite for ladies wishing to catch up between races and swap those all important race tips.
Newbury Racecourse has teamed up with The Eve Appeal – a charity funding world leading research into gynaecological cancers, which affect over 18,000 women in the UK every year. Newbury Racecourse will donate 10% of the sale from each salad on the day, to help raise awareness and contributions for The Eve Appeal.

Newbury Racecourse is also delighted to be partnering with West Berkshire businesses around its “Fashions in the Field” competition, to find the most stylish ladies at Newbury Racecourse sporting the most sensational hats, tiaras and fascinators. In true Ladies Day spirit racegoers will be asked to dress to impress, with the best dressed lady walking away with a luxury break in Florida courtesy of Charter Travel, Newbury. Other prizes include a total of £1000 of spend with leading milliner and bei cappelli and luxury lingerie specialist Angela Knight both of Hungerford.
Continuing on the local and racing theme and renowned for their style at the races and beyond, Channel 4 Racing presenter Emma Spencer and Chanelle McCoy, wife of Champion and 2010 Grand National winning Jockey AP McCoy, will form part of the judging panel for the Fashions in the Field competition.
“On the day we will be looking for a lady whose outfit offers style and elegance combined with some summery colours and ideally completed with fantastic accessories. Ladies Day is all about enjoying the racing with friends and family along with having some fun and is a great excuse to make a style statement” commented Emma Spencer.
Chanelle added “Newbury racecourse is our local racecourse and I am looking forward to fantastic day at the races and seeing some stunning styles from the ladies. I would advise anyone considering their outfit for the day to go for vibrant colours and most certainly a hat, whether its traditional style, a fascinator or a tiara is a funky alternative”.
Limited tickets are still available for the racing and concert starting from £25. For the ultimate in luxury, there is limited availability in the Royal Box, which has an all inclusive package for £249pp and exclusive views of the racing, or trackside and panoramic restaurants offer fresh seasonal dining from £130pp.
Following the racing, Irish pop sensation Westlife will be performing live on stage. Racegoers can reserve a spot in the premium viewing area or bag a party pod for the whole afternoon for up to 12 friends, at around £30 a person including a delicious hog roast and Champagne.
Night owls should book in advance for the exclusive Ladies Day After Party at the Hula Bar and Grill located in the heart of the racecourse at just £15 per ticket. The Party, in association with Gorilla Events, will feature tropical cocktails, a flame grill BBQ, a live DJ spinning party classics and a tiki style atmosphere kicking on after the Westlife concert.
