Wiltshire Trainers and Jockeys target Lockinge Point-to-PointPossible fond farewell for popular Lough Derg
The County of Wiltshire is likely to be represented by a strong hand of runners and riders at the Charles Stanley Old Berks Point-to-Point and Country Day at Lockinge, near Wantage, this Bank Holiday Easter Monday.
Racehorse, Lough Derg raced in sixty one races, winning twelve, including the Grade 1 Long Walk Hurdle as Ascot.

 26 March Bumper entry received for Lockinge Point-to-PointThe Charles Stanley Lockinge Point-to-Point has received a bumper entry ahead of its popular Easter Monday fixture with 191 entries across six races.
With current adverse weather conditions wreaking havoc with horseracing and equestrian events around the country, the going at the Lockinge venue currently is good to soft, resulting in the strong entry.

This year the annual Charles Stanley Old Berks Point-to-Point and Country day is celebrating a historic landmark. 2013 heralds its 60th anniversary of the fixture being held at the Lockinge venue. The popular Easter Bank Holiday event historically attracts over 10,000 visitors, who flock to the only jump fixture in the Home Counties on this date. Racing and plenty of family entertainment off the track will ensure that this year’s renewal will provide a bumper day for visitors.

Aintree Racecourse, home of the John Smiths Grand National meeting has appointed HRSM as a consultant on the 2013 event to deliver specific event, digital, print and media related projects as well as provide strategic PR and Social Media support leading into and during the racecourse's flagship fixture in early April.

The fixture is unique as it features six races confined to female Jockeys, with five races for Pro-Am’s and one restricted to professional riders.

New Zealander Andrew Nicholson put himself firmly on the New Zealand Olympic selectors' radar today when taking the first two places in the three star competition at the St James's Place Barbury International Horse Trials, with Avebury (1st) and Quimbo (2nd). Nicholson, whose stables are at Lockeridge, Marlborough clocked faultless cross country rounds on both horses inside the time.

Rugby stars enjoy day away from the pitch at Newbury RacesGloucester Rugby Club centre Mike Tindall enjoyed an afternoon at Newbury Races today supporting his horse Monbeg Dude. Under leading Grand National winning Jockey Tom Scudamore, Mondeg Dude finished in third place in a nail biting finish in the fourth race the Oakley Coachbuilders Handicap Chase behind Glens Boy (1st) and Ikorodu Road (2nd).
